Sedona Mountain Bike Festival

Sedona’s Bike  Trails on Display

If you still need a good reason to visit the beautiful Red Rock country of Sedona Arizona maybe you should check out the first annual Sedona Mountain Bike Festival.
Brought to you Mike Raney and business partner Matt McFee of Hermosa Tours which leads mountain-bike tours in Sedona and other popular destinations, Sedona Mountain Bike Festival is a three day event, Friday-Sunday, March 6-8. It will feature an expo with bikes, music and beer at Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village plus shuttles and guided rides each day. Shops including Bike and Bean and Absolute Bikes also are involved and will offer group rides
Modeled after similar festivals in mountain-biking hotbeds such as Moab, Utah, and Fruita, Colo., the festival allows participants to try the newest bikes from at least 25 vendors. There will be clinics and rides for all skill levels.

The trail system within the Red Rock Ranger District of Coconino National Forest around Sedona, AZ is one of the most special resources you’ll find anywhere. This is a trail system shared with hikers and equestrians.
Jennifer Burns, primary manager for trails and trail development for the Red Rock Ranger District, which surrounds Sedona and the Village of Oak Creek, said the number of trail users in Sedona is skyrocketing. And she should know. In addition to managing the trails, Burns is an avid biker and hiker.
“If you look at the trajectory over the last 20 years, it’s straight up,” she said. “We have pretty good stats on it because we have trail counters out there and trail-registration boxes, and we now have over a million users per year on the trail. That’s a lot of use.”
