Experience Village of Oak Creek

Village of Oak Creek Welcomes You

Most visitors arrive in Sedona via I-17, rolling along Highway 179, Arizona’s first All-American Road, and the Red Rock Scenic Byway. As you come around a gentle curve, suddenly the breathtaking Courthouse Butte and Bell Rock seem to explode into view and instantly you know… you’re in Sedona. Your first taste of Sedona begins in the Sedona Village of Oak Creek, a laid-back residential and business community 5 miles south of Uptown Sedona’s business hub. Stop and spend a day in “the Village:” play a round at one of three Village area golf courses or go for a hike in the red rocks, grab a bite to eat at a casual cafe, shop the Village’s signature Oak Creek Factory Outlet Stores, TeQua Marketplace and more retail centers, and end the day with fine dining, a theater experience and an overnight in a charming bed & breakfast or hotel. Here, you’ll find the best Sedona Village of Oak Creek businesses to bring your Sedona vacation to life.

The Village of Oak Creek, known by locals as “the Village”, was once a sleepy little retirement community, but today it’s one of the fastest growing areas of Sedona, complete with three golf courses, several new subdivisions and resort hotels. If you’re driving in to Sedona from I-17 via Highway 179, the Village is the first part of Sedona you’ll encounter. Officially the town is called Big Park, but it is much more commonly referred to as the Village of Oak Creek.
Just north of the Village toward Sedona you’ll encounter the entrance to Bell Rock Vista and Pathway. Nearly 4 miles long, the Bell Rock Pathway is a well-groomed walking trail. It’s a great choice for starting our your hiking or mountain biking adventure. The trail passes by Courthouse Rock and Bell Rock, one of Sedona’s famous vortex energy spots. Many other trails are accessible from the Pathway, with varying degrees of difficulty to challenge your skills.
About halfway between the Village and the “Y” (the intersection of Hwy 179 and SR 89A), is the turn off to the Chapel of the Holy Cross. Built in 1955, the Chapel of the Holy Cross is an inspirational tribute to the beauty of Sedona. The views are spectacular! Hundreds of people visit her everyday and it’s a great place to take photos.
